Question: Who is your mentor? Describe his or her life, education, and career path.
My mentor, Sheila, grew up in San Diego and attended Torrey Pines High School. She then did her undergrad at UCLA and majored in Psycho-biology. After this she did research at UCLA in the geriatrics department. She realized that she wanted to go back to school to get her masters degree. Sheila went to UC Irvine and graduated with a masters in Public Health. During her masters program she worked as an intern at the American Diabetes Association. After graduation, she was offered a job at ADA and has worked here ever since. Her current title is Associate Director of Community Health Strategy.
