Question: You've been at your internship for a week now and you should have a grasp of what your internship project will be. What will you be doing? What will the final product look like? What skills (academic, creative, technical) will you utilize and/or develop while you work on this project? How will the project benefit the organization?
My mentor and I are still trying to develop a long lasting project that I will be doing while with the American Diabetes Association. In the last week, I have been working on mini projects like applying for grants, speaking with pediatric endocrinologists in the area about the work that we do here at the ADA, and calling people who have called into the national hotline.
The work that I have done already benefits the community members with diabetes because it gives them a resource to go to when they need help or advice. It benefits the organization because these are time consuming projects that would otherwise take time out of the employees already busy schedules.
